Pembrokeshire
Blinded - Marloes Sands, Pembrokeshire Coast, Wales, United Kingdom
Marloes Sands is a mini Iceland in Wales with its dramatic rocky coastline, jagged rocks, natural arches and a beautiful sandy beach. I wanted to create something dramatic here so I decided to use f/16 and frame the sun between the sharp rock edges to create a sun star. Took 3 exposures to create an HDR to try and capture all the details.
Once I had the shot in the bag, I turned around to see that I had been completely cut off from the beach by the incoming tide and was stranded on a small piece of the beach with the sea on 3 sides and sharp rocks on one. To be completely honest I did panic a little bit. Thankful to my waterproof trousers and shoes, I waded through almost knee deep water to get back to the trail.
