Endless Beaches - Porthcurno, Cornwall
Called as Porthkornow in cornish means "Port (or Bay) of Cornwall". In the nineteenth century, this remote beach became famous as the British termination of early submarine telegraph cables, the first of which was landed in 1870, part of an early international link stretching all the way from the UK to India. If you look closely almost a third way from the left of the image, on the top of the cliff you may be able to spot a white pyramid. This is where the submarine cable from France terminated.
