Mom's Mirror Image - Shag and Chick, Staple Island

I love this composition as the chick in the background is almost a mirror image of its mother and both form a diagonal line accross the frame.
European shag is a species of cormorant. It breeds around the rocky coasts of western and southern Europe, southwest Asia and north Africa, nesting on rocky ledges or in crevices or small caves. In Britain this seabird is usually referred to as simply the Shag. The nesting season is long, beginning in late February but some nests not started until May or even later. They lay three eggs.
